DISSEMBLANCE

Layer upon layer of ephemera
you don;
these are your vestments,
blinding, alluring. Purveyors of
rosy falsehoods you seek,
bulwarks for your vanity.

By the blinded rendered blind,
your true countenance you
do not see.

Dissemblance is your art,
disguise, your wont,
face masked, smiles affected,
eyes veiled, sentiment feigned,
words mendacious, glances
evaded, your beloved garb.

Pitiless you shatter the glass
that reveals the iniquitous
labyrinths of your mind, the
fiendish recesses of your soul.

Fierce you guard your husk,
repudiate renewing rain that
would its stripes soften, shun
the sun that would it shrivel,
the wind that would it loosen,
the tempest that depurates.

Ardent you hug the very
contagion that corrodes your
fundament, defiles your
essence, befouls your core,
dishonours Truth.
