CASCADE
Thro' the dark silence they glide
as dancers 'pon a twilit
stage. Mystical beams ride the
inky velvet air, as silken
rillets 'pon the mountain descend,
breathing night's chill,
her pine scented sustenance.
Chains of pearly steps they trace
'mid evergreen lushness,
silver ancient pines, that ev'ry spire,
each needle, may be, for
a moment, one with bygone stars,
that the woodlands the
empyrean Bride's glow may wear.
Daughters of Heaven's brightest
Jewel gentle cascade, as
downy dreams dip into somnolent
streams, scattering radiant
rippling ribbons into their haunted,
jade stained depths.
This tableau, wondrous rendering
of Nature's own spirits,
Earth takes into her heart, for its
blessed light to possess,
for her repose to sustain thro'
moonless nights.
