BLESSING OF EOS

(MYRTALE'S PRAYER)

Lambent firmament awash in
Selene's light, awaken
from thy silvern slumber!
Farewell, weary, dimming Orb,
Daughter of Hyperion,
for thy sister Eos now her rosy
countenance shall unveil.

Shine on, Eosphorus, jewel 'pon
thy hallowed mother's
coralline brow! Thou, goddess
of Day's early Grace,
who birthed the Dawnstar, smile
'pon all who revere thee.
Sprite of pallid gold, Friend to
the Muses, fleeting tho' thou
bidest, bless our children's quest.

Arise, mighty Helios, fair Eos
would respite. Cast thy life-giving
Gold upon somnolent Gaia!
Enfold her, gracious Aura,
the Nymphs thy praise shall dance.
Behold thy son, o Theia,
soar 'cross thine azure domain.

Enwrap our children, great gods
and goddesses, safe in
your luminous warmth. Their sacred
mission guide thro'
Winter winds, o'er frozen paths, to
Great Pan's shrine 'pon
distant shores.
