WE, THE LIVING

Earth and her oceans we contain, her boundless
skies and molten core.

Life fluid of oaks and ashes, of ancient woodlands,
surges through our veins.

Numberless stars shine through our eyes, line our
hearts, their beats in

perfect accord with melodies of eternal plains,
with primordial rhythms.

A million suns we imbibe, tread upon carpets of
lush living green stardust,

reach across pulsing galaxies for wild blossoms
upon Spring's meadows.

Countless worlds we embrace, as we enfold each
other, hands that clasped

many light years away, lips that curved in winning
smiles, spoke peace and love.

Cosmic bounty spins our life thread, its airy fabric
celestial tempests weave,

essentia known, yet never seen, colour and pattern,
texture and embroider.

These streets, these marbled halls that echo our
hearts' language, aeons ago

resounded with these very cadences, harmonies
we gained ere Earth was born.

Seconds float about us, ephemeral motes, merely
minutes in history, yet

all Creation, every being, under every sun, holding
Infinity in our hands.
