Arise, o happy choristers,
fair Eos’ praises sing;
Gaea's children echo your joy,
you proclaim eternal Spring.
Shepherds rejoice as melodies
thro' verdant valleys resound;
merrily little lambs frolic,
as blossoms’ breath you expound.
Of gaily babbling brooks you tell,
my weary soul finds respite;
chirrup, trill, warble and twitter,
in sublime tune these unite.
Sing to us as Zephyrus glides
over fragrant pastures lush;
reveal to us Chloris' ways,
pray, cuckoo, starling and thrush.
Blithe, with innocent abandon,
Astraea and Hermes dance;
cheering Persephone's advent,
day-lilies rouse from their trance.
Blessed are herdsfolk who waken,
when Helios you extol;
your hymns to Pan at eventide
render man and Nature whole.
O you that praise Eunomia,
who cause our spirits to soar,
friends of Nymphs and the Anemoi,
gladden our hearts ever
more.© 2014 Lily's Verse
